Shanghai - June 2015
For our main summer holiday in 2015, we took Shanhong's parents to the UK for their first visit. Picking them up in Shanghai gave us a chance to use a hotel voucher I won, and to see some of Shanhong's side of the family - including her 2nd brother, wife, nephew and new baby!

March 2015 saw us back in our Chinese home of Beihai, still a beautiful place to be! Sandy beaches, great food - and the occasional animal causing a traffic jam! Enjoy these few pics.

Warwick Castle - December 2014
After Christmas, Shanhong had a friend come to stay - and so, together with Maw, we were out exploring. On the 27th we went to Warwick Castle, one of the finest castles in the UK and now beautifully restored and fitted with Mdm Taussaurd's waxworks.

Christmas in UK - 2014
Christmas this year was at my sisters. The first pic is Shanhong and I in front of our lovely tree - and the second of Shanhong and Mum with their chocolate tree decorations. Then - over to Lynn and Chris for a fantastic lunch and some lovely pressies!

Beauty and the Beast Panto - Dec 2014
Back in the UK for Christmas, it was time to take Maw to a panto - first time in Oakengates - but a nice little theatre and a really good show ... even if the main duet between the lovers was out of Phantom of the Opera!
Dalian - August 2014
After the cruise, Trevor had to return to work straight away, but Shanhong still had three weeks of holiday. She went back to Dalian to spend some time with her parents and ended up with her nephew as well - not quite the plan! So, not the best of trips - but she did manage a lovely 'girl's weekend' with her mum on a nearby island leaving the men at home. A highlight for me though was pics of her dad making friends with some little red pandas at Dalian Zoo.

Ella and Eden - Summer 2014
Both of my nephews have recently had kids!
Ella is my older nephew's child, and Eden is my younger nephew's child.
It was good to see them both - they are beginning to grow!

We went on a cruise - July 2014
If you’ve been in touch for any length of time, you’ll know I have always fancied a cruise. This summer was my chance to give it a try as Shanhong and I (and Teddy of course) joined the Oceana for a one-week trip to Norway. The cruise left and returned to Southampton in the UK and consisted of two ‘sea days’ getting to/from Norway and 4 days where we got off the ship and went to explore. Needless to say – it was every bit as good as I hoped and we will certainly be cruising again in the future. Full details can be found in the reports section of the website under Norway Reports.

West Mid Safari - June 2014
We took Maw to West Midlands Safari Park, fed some giraffes and enjoyed a great day out.It really is a great place for all ages - we;ve taken nephews and nieces, and have taken mum, but we even like to go alone! Don't forget, clicking on any pic opens the full gallery.

ifly - Singapore - April 2014
This is just the two of us, rather than the wider family - but it still counts! On Good Friday, as we had a day off school, we decided to do something different. We booked ourselves into i-fly, an indoor wind-tunnel that mimics sky-diving. The Singapore centre apparently has the largest such wind-tunnel in the world!
