Telford does not have the greatest reputation as an amazing tourist destination – but there is actually quite a lot going on, from historical sites and nature walks to museums and nightlife. Again, looking for places to take mum, we went to Blist Hill Victorian Town, a working museum to life in Victorian England, where the first task is to exchange some modern money for old, and then enjoy the traditional shops and fairgrounds. Always a nice day out!

Another day, driving to see my sister, we stopped at Buildwas Abbey, a National Trust property we have passed many, many times.
